It was rumoured that Brown who was formerly on loan at Deepdale would be joining the Lilywhites after a training ground bust up at Leicester saw him released from the final year that was remaining on his contract. Brown as suspected underwent a medical yesterday and signed on a free transfer on a 12 month contract. He is now 32 years old an impressed whilst on loan under Irvine and will be looking to shine under Ferguson.
The boss has also shelled out £400,000 for Craig Morgan from Peterborough. The two worked together at Posh and Morgan has been a target for Ferguson. Morgan plays in the centre of the defence so Preston now have competition for places atthe back. Both Morgan and Brown have flown out to Spain for pre-season training with the rest of the squad.
