Doyle was left out of the squad for the trip to Villa and has rarely featured since his altercation at the start of December with Beckford at Sheffield Wednesday.
The decision to sign Doyle on a three year deal astounded most at the beginning of the season after a poor lon spell at Deepdale last term. Doyle is more than capable at League One level and could help Bolton secure promotion back to the Championship.
