The frontman has not featured for Preston under Alex Neil and was out on loan at Oldham last season. He has a year left on his contract but Preston have always been keen to offload the frontman.
It is alleged that Sunderland, Fleetwood and Scunthorpe are all interested in the forward who has a reputation for scoring goals at League One level. It is understood that Preston are asking for a fee in the region of £250,000.
The departure would mean a spot on the wage bill for Neil to use to improve the squad as Preston aim for a top six finish.
