Lonergan was always linked with a move to Merseyside but went to Leeds earlier in the week for talks as a fee had been agreed. Unsurprisingly he failed to agree personal terms which has been a stumbling block for various players leaving Deepdale.
No formal bid has been made by Everton but the fee should not be a problem and the Whites are now just waiting for a formal approach from Everton for the keeper.
