EX CLARET BRISCOE SIGNS FOR THE WHITES

Last updated : 22 July 2003 By Andrea Barnes

The Clarets released him at the end of last season in an attempt to trim down the squad and refine the club's wages.

He signed on the dotted line this morning, and will go straight into the squad against Yeovil tonight and the rest of the South West tour this week.

It is the kind of player that PNE needed, as he can play in all positions down the left, and that's what they've lacked in previous seasons. He also played with Cresswell when they both played for Sheffield Wednesday.

There was speculation in last nights drubbing of Jamaica against Mexico, that Craig Brown was after another Jamaican that was in the squad.

This player could be the second summer signing, Craig Brown not indicating yet that Briscoe was the player he was after a few weeks ago, but didn't issue his identity because he didn't want it to fall through.
