History was against Ferguson as Preston have only won once at Ashton Gate in over twenty visits to the Bristol club. Preston never looked like changing that record as they were chasing the game from the start.
Haynes put the home side in front withint he first couple of minutes before Fontaine added a second with twelve minutes gone. Preston improved as they tried to get back into the game. THey manage to pull a goal back when Brown headed in a Wallace cross to go in on ebehind at half time.
A Carey lob in the second half sealed the victory for City before Sno added a fourth. Right at the death a Wallace free kick ended up in the back of the net although Carter is claiming he got a touch.
North End will have to improve defensively if they are to avoid being dragged into a relegation battle in the forthcoming weeks.
