Preston had to make one change with Anders Lindegaard having a virus which meant Chris Kirkland came in for his league debut. He wore a cap for part of the game due to a low sun but he could have had a pipe and slippers for most of the game.

Lindegaard Out through Illness

Grayson set Preston up with three centre backs and up front Reach played off Garner which has become the norm over the last few weeks with Preston having limited options up front.

Brighton started the better side but that wasn't difficult given that Preston only really got going after half an hour, Perhaps if the visitors had asserted themselves a little more then they may have profited.

Even when Preston did manage to string two passes together the game was generally poor with neither side mounting anything like a reasonable attack in the final third.

As the game wore on neither side looked like breaking the other down and the visitors were satisfiied with a point to consolidate their play off place.

Woods came closest for Preston when he smashed a cross against the woodwork. It was the only highlight of the game and took everyone by susprise.

Robinson came on late on to add pace up front but the game lackked life. The referee was poor and strangely when a Brighton player went down allowed play to continue stopping the game only as Robinson was crossing the ball into the box.

Preston now move on to Forest on Tuesday before a short trip to Bolton next weekend. North End remain in tenth but actually krept to within six points of the top six thanks too other results.
