The visitors looked the more potent in front og goal including a Paul Gallager free kick which was struck against the post as well as another effort that hit the woodwork.

It was on loan Premiership striker, Yakubu who broke the deadlock after a sweet finish which had thePreston defence fooled.

Brown had sent out his team in a 3-5-2 formation with Morgan partnering St Ledger and Cort at the back whilst Carter, Russell and new the new boy from Blackburn filled the midfeid. Unfortunatley, Preston amde a change before the half as Nicholson came on.

The team looked more compact and solid and it was only a good chance taken by Yakubu which unlocked the defence. A late goal stabbed hm,e by Hume proved that Preston could mix it when down in the dumps. The draw was a fiar result but Preston still remain seven away from safety.
