Clarke who was injured on Good Friday at Huddersfield has torn his achilles. The club confirmed he will be out for 6 - 8 months meaning he is only going to return towards the end of 2017.
This was compounded with Cunningham who fractured his leg in the game on Easter Monday. He is likely to be out for 6 - 8 weeks. Whilst the left back should be ready for pre-season his summer is going to be spent recovering.
North End need to address the depth of the squad in the summer. With Pearson out suspended Preston look light in midfield whilst defensive cover is thin at best with two key players out.
