Preston are down to the very core of their squad after it was understood today that striker Marcus Stewart will be out for two weeks with a hamstring strain. O'Neill who limped off in the same game - his first appearance back has a double injury to his hamstring and pelvis. He is to be assessed in a couple of days for the full extent of his problems.

On a brighter note David Nugent was said to be only two weeks away from returning to training. However, it is touch and go if he will be able to get himself fit for the play offs if Preston manage to grind out the results with the remaining threadbare squad.
