England will play three group games with the possibility of further knockout matches depending on how successful they are in the group. Should England go all the way to the final then James will return to Deepdale at the start of the week leading up to the first match of the season.
Feerguson had no issues with releasing James as he in effect will just be completing his pre-season with England instead of Preston and will be able to feature for the start of the season in Preston colours.
