James played the full match in England's last group game against the hosts France. A last minute equaliser by Matt Phillips combined with defeat for Holland in the other final group game meant England progress through to the semi-finals.
England will face Spain on Tuesday in their semi-final with James expected to captain the side once again. The young midfielder will most likely join back up with the Preston squad in the final week of pre-season.
