Prior to the game at Ipswich Preston confirmed that Maguire would be out for a lengthy period with a hamstring period. He is set to return in the new year.
Maguire had recently had problems when he came off at Fulham. It was unclear as to how long Maguire would last this season after starting in Irealnd in March. He was always goign to need a rest.
He has made a significant impact at Preston scoring several goals and contributing to the attacking style. He will be mised but his absence should give an opportunity for others.
Maguire joins Clarke and Cunningham on the long term absentee list. Earl, Davies, Spurr, Fisher and Woods are also in the treatment room along wth keeper Rudd.
