Lucas Loan deal

Substitute goalkeeper David Lucas has just clinched a month loan deal with the second division Sheffield Wednesday.

The Preston-born ‘keeper has this season failed to challenge faultless Gould in between the sticks, and goes to Wednesday for a month to help with their goalkeeper injury crisis.

Wednesday have three goalkeepers with injury, and experienced Lucas will fit right in the slot after many appearances for PNE in Division two.

Recently Kevin Pressman got substituted after he tore his forearm. And his replacement was 40 year-old Eric Nixon! Both Ola Tidman and Chris Stringer are both also out injured.

Wednesday’s first aim was to sign Leeds’ keeper, but they lost out to Hull City, where he has signed a three-year deal

Lucas must feel frustrated that he is on the bench all the time, and would agree that first team matches at Wednesday. Another Preston-born ‘keeper Lonergan, is expected to be a straight replacement on the bench.
