The 31 year old midfielder has been at Preston in excess of ten years and would have broken the recently deceased Alan Kelly Snr's club appearance record next season if he had continured playing.

The reports were first heard in the east Midlands with Davies looking to strengthen and Irvine looking for a more youthful line up next season. A fee has yet to be agreed.
