Mears Confusion As No Official Statement Given

After weeks of speculation from Mears's agent, it was believed that talks were being held with Charlton who had reportedly agreed a fee of around £3 million for the want away speedster.

This move however, was on the basis that Charlton right back Luke Young would be moving to West Ham. It now appears that Young has failed his medical at West Ham and the Hammers have turned towards Mears to fill a void in their squad.

No official statement has been given by either of the London clubs or Preston North End. It is believed that Mears will be sold for a fee of around £3m later this week but his final destination is unkown.
