Mixed Form Ahead Of Weekend Derby

No team has really grabbed this division which means that the majority feel like they are within touch of the top places with a couple of wins. Preston are no exception but in reality they look far from a play off side at present.

North End were defeated at home by Stoke led by former boss Alex Neil. Preston barely had an attempt in anger as they tamely went down by two goals scored by Smallbone and Campbell. Both goals were avoidable.

In midweek Preston travelled to Huddersfield who are having a dreadful season. The game was bleak until Cunningha, headed home from a corner early in the second period to give Preston the lead.

North End held on for the victory and looked the better side but it was far from a convincing performance. Preston now travel to Blackpool for the derby on Saturday where again they will face a side who are not on top form.

It might well be that Preston can get through the next few games without being exposed at the back and just nicking the odd gal here and there because they certainly don't look like scoring a barrel load at present.
