The big news so far from pre-season was the blow that Izzy Brown would be out for some considerable time after suffering what appears to be a serious achilles injury.
Brown had signed on a one year deal but due to his injury he will be out of action for a significant period. It is unclear what the future will hold for the forward but we wish him a speedy recovery and hopeully he will be back making an impact on the field sooner rather than later.
On the pitch Preston were victorious away at Celtic thanks to a Ben Whiteman penalty. This game was followed up with an average performance against Bolton who defeated Preston one nil.
Apart from the game against Bamber Bridge a distinct lack of goals has been the main talking point although this is nothing new given Preston's recent record in the goalscoring department.
Rumours will always swirl about signing a striker but ultimately a lack of creativity combined with no proven goalscorer has caused Preston's progress to stall over the past few seasons.
Pre-season continues against Accrington Stanley before the big games against both Manchester sides with Wigan sandwiched in between to conclude before the start of the new campaign.
