It was always thought that Eddie Nolan would never return to Preston after he fell out with Darren Ferguson earlier in the year. Nolan has been on loan at Scunthorpe for much of this season with a view to moving permanently.
Scunthorpe did not reveal the agreed sum but it is believed that when Nolanw as linked to Sheffield Wednesday, the Whites were asking for £50,000 and Scunthorpe appear to have agreed a similar valuation for the Irish under-21 international.
