According to reports from the weekend papers Paul Simpson is apparently interested in signing the Ipswich and former Swindon striker Sam Parkin.

Parkin signed for Ipswich in August 2002 and has scored 5 league goals in 17 appearances for the East Anglian club. He was far more prolific fr his former club Swindon though scoring 67 goals in 120 appearances.

Sam Parkin started his career at Premiership champions Chelsea as a trainee but he failed to make an appearance for the west London club and went on loan to Millwall, Wycombe, Oldham and Northampton Town respectively before he signed for Swindon.

Paul Simpson and Chairman Derek Shaw have apparently been working night and day to try and bolster the clubs options up front whilst the transfer window remains open. Watch this space!
