It was the player that Craig Brown wanted to keep under cover, before he definitely knew he had his man, and still has made a contract subject to a ‘successful work permit application’.

The White’s Boss said to the official Website: " It has been much publicised that we have been chasing Claude and the deal was agreed in principle some time ago and we are pleased he will join us.

"Claude has passed a medical, but has a slight ankle injury which he picked up in the Gold Cup and will work with Andrew Balderston, before hopefully getting involved in couple of weeks."

Davis played 8 out of the 13 games for Jamaica in the past two seasons and was captain for the Premiership Jamaican side Portmore United.
