The frontman was plagued by injuries for the past couple of years and was rarely seen close to the first team squad. Towards the end of season things were looking up for Moult but with Preston in a battle to move away from the bottom sides Moult did not get any pitch time.
It has been a difficult time for the Scot. He failed to make a significant impact when he signed initially and a lengthy period on the sidelines has meant that Preston have not seen the best of Moult.
It seemed that a clean break was likely and probably best for both parties. Moult has joined Burton Albion and if he has some sort of fitness then he may well start to bang in the goals and show the form which landed him a move to Preston originally.
