Grayson had targeted Pearson in the past but the deal fell through and themidfielder has since spent time on loan at Barnsley. That loan spell ended allowing Grayson to go afterthe youngster again.
Report suggest that Preston have agreed a fee for the yougnster in the region of £100,000 - £300,000. The signing has fuelled speculation that Kilkenny might be set to leave to join Barnsley whilst Brownhill has also been linked with a loan move away.
