Grayson was interested in taking Pearson and teammate Nick Powell before the start of the season but the deal fell through. Pearson ended up going on loan to Barnsley but has now returned.
Reports started to surface that the midfielder was set to sign for a fee of around £100,000. Grayson did confirm after Saturday's game that a signing was imminent so news will be expected on Monday.
