Pickford Ban Overturned

Referee Gavin Ward who was influenced by a partisan crown decided that Jordan Pickford had rushed out of his area deliberately handling the ball to prevent Wood from scoring.

Evidence suggests at first he was going to book the keeper but then changed his mind on the advice of the other officials. Steve Evans, the Leeds manager along with assistant Raynor, raced out to the fourth official overwhelming him with claims that it was a deliberate handball.

Clearly Evans has problems with his eyesight as well as his waistline as replays confirmed the ball hit Pickford's chest. The dismissal changed the game but thankfully the FA saw sense and the red card has been overtuned allowing Pickford to play in the Boxing Day clash at Huddersfield.
