Garner has been ruled out for between 3 - 4 months with tendon damage in his knee. The striker was injured in the first half at Bristol City and was substituted at half time. He hobbled to the bench and had scans on Monday which revealed the damage.
A further blow came when Aston Villa recalled in form Callum Robinson as they had allowed Darren Bent to go on loan to Brighton. Robinson is now back with the Villa first team squad looking to breakthrough.
