The keeping situation at Preston is an interesting one with the club looking to bring in a permanent number one. Pickford has returned to Sunderaknd and is unlikely to be returning barring a catastrophe at Sunderland.

Preston have Sam Johnstone on a 28 day loan from Man Utd which expires shortly and it is rumoured that QPR have made a bid of £1 million to sign the keeper on a permanent deal once his loan at Preston expires.

North End have now been linked with a move for the port Vale keeper Jak Alnwick. The youngster signed for vale atthe start of the season from Newcastle. He was meant to be a back up but former Preston keeper Chris Neal has been out injured.

Alnwick has impressed and even with Neal returning, the youngster has remained between the posts. Both Wigan and Preston are interested in taking the youngster.
