Poor Preston Punished

Preston nver play well away from home during midweek and that's a fact. They never play well against sides in the lower reaches of the table and once again after an impressive start to the season Alan Irvine's menreturned into normal mode of flattering to deceive as they were outplayed by a side that they really should have picked up at least a point from if Preston are to maintain top six aspirations this season.

St Ledger left the team hotel to sign for Boro in the build up to the game which cannot have helped but to concede three goals to a side that will undoubtedly end up in the bottom tier of the table is poor by Preston's standards.

Preston lost to Scunthorpe twice in the Championship two seasons ago but this side has improved immensely under Irvine but even he could do nothing to stop Preston conceding to Grant Mccann and a double from Gary Hooper. Jon Parkin magaged a consolation before Preston attempted a fightback.

Preston now have to regroup before Coventry come to Deepdale on Saturday and defensively need o get in the right shape of mind.
