Pre-Season Completed With A Win

North End travelled to Boundary Park for their final game of the pre-season programme. This match is usually an indication of selection for the first game of the season but it is clear that Neil has options given some positive performances in pre-season.

Preston defeated their opponents by three clear goals. The first came from Moult who converted a cross from new boy Graham Burke. This came after Maguire was taken off with a tight hamstring which was the only disappointing note of the afternoon.

After being linked with moves away Horgan has worked had in pre-season pushing himself back into contention. He scored a screamer from outside the box to double the lead.

The third was scored late on when Gallagher's penalty was saved but the experienced man converted the rebound to give Preston a comfortable victory.

North End now start their league campaign at home to QPR next Saturday with expectations rising that Preston can beat last seasons finish of seventh place.
