North End played away at Morecambe on Tuesday night where goals from former Morecambe player, Tom Barhuizen, and Ben Pearson, gave Preston a victory against the League One side.
Preston then travelled to Accrington to play Stanley on Wednesday evening. Two goals from Brown and Robinson just before the break gave Preston a two goal advantage.
Edwards halved the lead for the home side before Cunningham scored late on. Stanley pulled one back through Edwards. The majority of the squad got a run out over the two games building fitness for the new season.
The matches step up a gear with Newcastle and Burnley at home before the finale of pre-season.
