Alex Neil made changes as was anticipated for the trip to Adams Park to face League Two Wycombe Wanderers. New boy Bodin was given his debut up front.

The result was never in doubt as Preston took the lead within two minutes. Harrop curled in a free kick and is now pushing for a start in the league especially for his ability at set pieces.

Preston made it two shortly after when Browne scored from outside the box. Wycombe did reduce the deficit through O'Nien before half time but Preston were rarely troubled in terms of the victory thereafter.

Horgan added aother goal after the break before Browne scored from the spot late on. Harrop then added his second of the game from a Cunningham cross just before the end.

The nature of the result will please Neil as they put the League Two side to the sword. North End advance to the next round where they will hope for a big draw.
