Preston Gain Ground

Preston started with a 3-5-2 which switched to a second half 4-4-2 to allow Pretsonmore freedom to attack. Johnstone and Johnson returned after the FA Cup match with Callum Robinson given a start up front alongside Garner.

Although the first half was a bit sluggish Preston looked the better team and certainly look more of a threat with Robinson accompanying Garnewr being supplied by Johnson in midfield and Gallgher providing incisive passes and crosses.

Preston seem to have found their attacking impertus again alongside the defensive steel which saw them keep a number of clean sheets prior to the start of 2015. It bodes well for the next few matches as Preston now boast the best defence int he league.

The first gola came courtesy of a good move which was rounded off by Johnson who made a move into the box and was unmarked to tap home from clsoe range. Preston have been missing a midfielder who could break into the box and score.

Gallagher doubled Preston's lead and thereafter the visitors who have been impressive in recent times after a poor start to the season could not break down Preston's back line.

Bristol City lost surprisingly away at Colchester whilst Swindon could only draw with Carwley. Preston sit 8 points from top but play their game in ahnd at Walsall tomorrow when the gap could narrow to 5 points.
