Gerrard has played very little this season after recovering from injury and Chris Poweell has effectively said he is free to leave the club in the summer. Grayson has been linked with a move for the defender that he brought to Huddersfield.
It is possible that a short term deal could be done for Gerrard to join sooner and then a permanent deal signed in the summer when he is officially out of contract.
If this turns out to be accurate then it appears that Paul Huntington will be on his way as Gerrard would join ex-team mates Clarke and Woods int he back line.
