Grayson made five changes from the weekend with hughill coming in up front and a new midfield of Kilkenney, Browne and Brownhill with Woods repalcing Clarke in the back three.
Preston took the lead early in the game thanks to Hughill. The striker was fouled int he box and then converted the penalty. Keane then doubled the lead soon after.
King halved the defecit but victory was confirmed when Brownhill scored the third with just under five minutes remaining of normal time. Preston are now in the draw for the next round which will take place tonight.
