Arestidou was a former England youth international but the twenty year old was released by Shrewsbury last season after failing to make an impression. Ferguson was looking for a back up keeper to Lonergan and Henderson.
The keeper was taken on trial and played in the victory over Chorley whilst also impressing in training. Arestidou has signed a one year deal and commanded no fee as he was out of contract.
