Rumours have been circulating all summer including at one point a suggestion that a marquee signing would be made breaking Preston's transfer record which has stood for the best part of two decades.
Numerous names have been mentioned but the constant link appears to be with Cameron Jerome purely on the basis that he has linked up with Neil previously at Norwich. There has thus far been no concrete evidence of such a move.
Another name linked with a move is youngster Ben Woodbury who is currently in America on tour with Liverpool. The Welshman is looking for first team football but again there is nothing further than speculation at this stage linking him to Preston.
North End seem to be content to wait for the right option to materialise after having done the majority of their business earlier in the transfer window.
