Preston Stretch Unbeaten Run

Jack King started the match in place of Huntington who he replaced at half time on Easter Monday at Bradford. He partnered Clarke and Wright at the back as Preston lined up in a 3-5-2 formation.

Both teams cancelled each other out in a power battle where the game ended up quite dour in parts. There were only glimpses from both teams as to what they were capable of with both seeming to be happy with a point.

North End took the lead when the ball broke for Gallagher in the box. He managed to find some space before crossing and Beckford managed to slot home from two yards out.

The visitors soon came back in the game as only moments later they were awarded a soft free kick. Theball was played in the box and some arguable pushing and holding especially on Welsh but a header across the box found Wilbraham who nodded home.

Johnstone then prevented a winner by pushing a deflected shot onto the bar. In the last minute Preston had a chance to snatch the game when Robinson, on as a sub, was put clean through but lack of control meant he couldn't convert.

Preston remain second in the table eight points behind Bristol City with a game in hand. They retain a five point gap over MK Dons who could only draw away at Port Vale. There are now five games left with Preston in action at home against Gillingham on Tuesday before travelling to Port Vale on Friday night.
