Ben Pringle was signed by Simon Grayson last summer as a replacement really for Adam Reach and to give attacking options down the left. He failed to impress and after McGeady arrived he has barely made the matchday squad.
The signing may rank with that of Eoin Doyle in terms of a minimal impact on the squad. Preston cannot allow passengers given the limited squad and wage budget.
Pringle is rumoured to be returning to Rotherham where he faied well earlier in his career in League One. Perhaps, just like Doyle, League One is the level for Pringle.
