Mckeveley mad ehis debut at left back with Brown coming in up fornt for his first start alongside Mellor this season.

Preston had the majority of the possession and the ball but failed to trouble the visitng goalkeeper. Mellor had a chance early on but failed to convert and Preston were put on the back foot when Lonergan was beatne for the second game in succession from thirty five yards. This time the shot coming from Bodde.

Preston huffed and puffed with Elliott and Parkin coming with Wallace on the wing but the forward play was always without edge, the keeper only having to make one save of note from Wallace.

The referee then pointed to the spot late on in the game when Mckeveely was adjudged to have fouled to lone Swansea attacker off the ball. Gomez tucked away the spot kick to end the game.

This was Preston's first league defeat at home on a Tuesday evening for seven and a half years and easily the poorest home turn out of the season. They have now lost three in a row with the rot sinking in fast Irvine must halt the slide before Preston find themselves in deeper trouble.
