He signed after having an operation earlier in the year knowing he would have to build up his fitness at Deepdale. In playing a few reserve games he was almost ready to join the first team back in October when he picked up an injury to his other knee!
Mellor is reckoned to be ready in Janaury and may well be the obvious replacement should Nugent be sold as most fans fear.
