Right Back Again

I haven't counted but Westley's has signed more than 30+ players in his time at Deepdale including loan signings. We thought the club had finished with the upheaval of players but this is not the case.

Westley's game of roullette continues as he is now desparately trying to find players to plug the ever growing gaps within his ever so inefficient squad that he assembled.

Paul Connelly is the latest addition to the squad. He has been signed until the end of the season from Leeds where he has fallen out of favour with Neil Warnock.

He is a right back to fill the void that Michael Keane has left. Todd Kane was brought in from Chelsea to fill this void only on his debut against Orient he was played in right midfield because Westley didn't believe Kane had enough time to adjust to Preston's way of working defensively.

In fairness Kane did reappear at right back before subsequently being put out in right midfield ahead of Monakana and Amoo. A waste of a loan spell but to Westley's inocmpetence of signing an appropriate player.

Some might blame Kane for having a lack of talent despite him coming from Cheslea. This myth has been dispelled now that Kane has gone on loan to Blackburn in the Championship where he has slotted into the first team. Clearly another case of Westley being unable to manage young talent.

Hopefully Conelly will be allowed to play at right back to show the fans that he is worthy of a place in the side. Just because results are going against Westley he needs consistency in defence and Connelly needs a chance to prove himself in his correct position.
