The truth is Monday's attendance was average for the season and Preston's poor form hardly wooed people from their armchairs to go and watch what of late has been a poor side.
Simpson has total respect for the people who come on week in week out but has pleaded with them to get behind the side and not to have a go at the players, management or directors over the last few games.
