Smith was signed atthe last minute before the season started by Brown to fill the vacant left back poisition. He was one of a number of people who Brown was looking at and some may say his least preferred choice.
He was givena one year deal after signing on a free but only appeared 14 times for Preston with many of those resulting in a booking or a red card. The club agreed to cancel his contract early with a settlement agreed. He is now epected to move abroad.
