Spurr was out of contract at Blackburn and therefore cost Preston no fee. He has signed a three eyar deal and can play at left back or in the centre of a back three.
It seems that he will be used as competition for Cunningham but also to be used as a centre back when Preston use three at the back given that Preston would be short in that area if there were injuries.
