A decision is set to be made over Aberdeen full back Hart in the next couple of days but Preston have now given up all hope of signing American Twellman before the deadline.

Twellamn wants to leave but there appears to be a stand off between his club and the Major League Soccer board. The MLS own his contract and therefore have the authority to accept and reject bids but they have naturally been in consultation with his club side New England Revolution over hsi possible departure and they both seem to be blaming each other over the exact transfer fee that would be necessary to release Twellman from his contract.

Preston have been linked with various players since the opening of the window with the latets being Polish goalkeeper Gregorz Szamotulski who palys at Dundee United. Rangers are also interested and with Carlo Nash also linked with a move to Preston it could be an interesting 48 hours.
