Alan Irvine has been concerned about his midfield for some time now with Nicholson sidelined for sometime, Carter and Chaplow playing well below capacity and new boy Schumi just settling in.
Irvine has used the loan market to bring in ex Sheffield United midfielder Michael Tonge. The loan deal will last one month and could feature up to 8 games including the match against Sheffield United on 28 December. Tonge is currently at Stoke but has note featured this season in the Premiership.
