Toothless North End Continue With Away Day Blues

A late goal from a Jamie Ward free kick saw an unconvincing home side defeat a pathetic Preston outfit. The goal itself summed up Preston as it was a free kick from way out on the touchline. It should have either been cleared by the defence or keeper but everyone stood around as the ball floated into the back of the net.

Preston lacked any imagination and up front has been a major problem for Preston as they have lacked goals from a toothless front line. Mellor has had severalunconvincing seasons now at this level, Elliot is clearly lightweight whilst Brown and Parkin appear to have hit a barren spell although in honesty they were never billed as twenty goal a season men.

Preston have only beaten Plymouth in recent times and need to gain some composure if they are to avoid getting involved in a relegation scrap.
