The situation has been further fuelled by the fact that both players were left out of the final friendlt game of pre-season in which the strongest side is usually played. Neither were on the bench and as of yet no reason has been given for their absence. It is not thought that they were injured.
Barton has been interesting Stoke whilst Treacy has been linked with a move to Burnley after they appear to have generated the £1.5m asking fee after selling Eagles and Mears. No formal bids have been accepted for the players although that could well change before the start of the season.
