Reports in Boston have stated that Preston put in a bid for Twellman who plays for the New England Revolution. All contracts in America are held centrally by the MLS and so any offer has to be accepted by them to release them from the contract.

Preston have had an offer of £800,000 rejected and are considering whether to up the offer with a Norwegian club also said to be in the running. Twellman has played 29 times for the national side and has an impressive strike ratio for New England after spending two years in Germany at 1860 Munich.
