Westley's Worries Continue

The boss blames anyone but himself. At the moment it is the players who are not adjusting to his ways of thinking. Today he had in the side players he had signed like Hunt, Robertson, Elhmer, Proctor, Brown and Cummins. Surely all of these players cannot be against his methods along with Bailey Wright who did not feature under Brown.

The starting line up smacked of desperation and a lack of attacking intent. Elhmer who is a defender by trade and has failed to start in his loan period was given a chance... on the left wing. Aarron Brown who is a defender by trade started... up front with Hume on the bench and Mellor looking to be out for the season.

Morgan made a surprise return to the defence with Danny Devine dropping out altogether. Gray returned to the bench despite having previously fallen out with Westley.

Preston did well to disrupt the play in the first half and with six defenders on the pitch it was clearly that Westley's intentions were to stifle and attack was at a premium. Parry had the only shot for North End which was a daisycutter.

In the second half Wednesday new they had to be more creative to break down a stubborn Preston. In the end Madine flashed in a shot from outside the box. Stuckmann potentially could have done better but he is hardly to blame for Preston's current plight.

Madine doubled his tally soon after as he rose highest against a feeble Preston defence to double the lead. Westley tried to change it bring Hume and Aneke on but that made no difference. Preston do not look like scoring at all.

The Whites now remain six points above the drop with the hardest run in of any of the sides down in the bottom few. Preston have to hope they can managed a win or two in their final six to remain safe.
